APSAC Executive Director Position Available
The American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC) is the
nation's largest interdisciplinary professional organization for people
working in the field of child abuse and neglect. Incorporated as a non-profit
organization in 1987 and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, APSAC has an
international membership of more than 5,000, and a national network of 40
state chapters. APSAC's mission is to ensure that everyone affected by child
maltreatment receives the best possible professional response.
APSAC is currently recruiting candidates for the position of Executive
Director. The Executive Director is responsible for implementing the mission
and goals of the organization and for directing the daily activities and
operations. Working closely with and reporting to the Board of Directors, the
Executive Director exercises leadership and administers the policies,
programs, strategies, and budget to support this multi-faceted organization.
Building a strong, financially stable organization for the future is a primary
responsibility of this position.
We seek an experienced and visionary leader whose minimum of six years of
successful senior-level management background demonstrates significant
accountability for professional staff development and sizeable budgetary
oversight, preferably in a membership association. This person should have
substantial experience in and knowledge of issues germane to the mission of
APSAC, and should demonstrate a sensitivity to and respect of cultural
diversity.
