Re: CPS/Battered Women's Shelters
Three resources for those interested in the interaction of domestic
violence and child maltreatment:
1) The Urban Institute examined five sites where there were coordinated
efforts between the child maltreatment sector and the domestic violence
sector. The title is "Efforts by Child Welfare Agencies to Address
Doemstic Violence: The experiences of five communities" by Laudan Y.
Aron and Krista K. Olson, March 1997. The address of the Urban
Institute is 2100 M Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 20037. (202)
833-7200.
2) My colleagues and I have done some work in this area. Some of our
work is at the following web site: http://www.columbia.edu/~rhm5
3) Jeff Edleson at the University of Minnesota School of Social Work is
editing a special issue of _Child Maltreatment_ which focuses on
issues related to domestic violence and child maltreatment. Jeff can be
reached at magd@maroon.tc.umn.edu.
