RE: CPS/Battered Women's Shelters
Families First of Michigan, our family preservation program, has a great
partnership with domestic violence. They provide intensive services to
women in shelters. It has gotten quite a lot of national attention. You
can e-mail Susan Kelly for more specific information at KellyS@state.mi.us.
It is an excellent model.

Subject: CPS/Battered Women's Shelters
Hello all. I am a CPS worker specializing in domestic violence issues.
I would like to know if anyone out would have any research or leads on
instances where CPS has been or is coordinating with Battered Women's
Shelters where they both "share" a family. I would also like to know if
anyone has ever heard of a specialized "unit" in CPS that only deals with
domestic violence cases.
Thanks,
Brian Ingram, MSSW
