Re: CPS/Battered Women's Shelters

The Community Partnership for Safe Families in Cedar Rapids Iowa (funded by
the Clark Foundation) has a joint CPC/domestic violence project. The
project involves housing a domestic violence advocate in the CPC office.
When service workers identify DV in a family, the case is referred to the
advocate for outreach and possible services. CPC workers in the Cedar
Rapids area have also gone through domestic violence training, and service
workers staff cases involving both domestic violence and child maltreatment
with a domestic violence expert (Susan Schechter) on a monthly basis. If
you would like more information, I would be happy to put you in contact
with folks from the Partnership.
