Re: CPS/Battered Women's Shelters

Bobby-You might check in with someone at the federal Administration for
Children, Youth and Families. With Illinois State University, we are
finishing up the first year of a three-year ACYF training grant which
focuses on training child welfare professionals to deal with cases that
involve child welfare and 1) domestic violence; 2) substance abuse; 3)
mental illness. Perhaps ACYF can give you the names of other grantees who
are further along in their work, and who have established or helped to
establish links between CPS and domestic violence programs. It is like
pulling teeth to get a phone number for ACYF, but their web site is at
http://www.acf.dhhs.gov/programs/acyf/.
