citizen review of child protection
Roxanne,
I forwarded your queston to a friend at ACF and this is her
response. HOwpe it is helpful.
States are required to establish Citizen Review Panels under new amendments
to CAPTA (Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act). Therefore, this
person could call her regional office of ACF with these questions and they
may be able to tell her where she can find further information. A contact
person in Region X is Kathy Admire at 206-615-2558 or at (I'm guessing at
her e-mail) kadmire@acf.dhhs.gov
Another possible resource is the National Resource Center on Child
Maltreatment. Their # is 404-881-0707. This is the Resource Center the
feds. established to assist States and ACF Regional Offices on child
protection issues. They may have started to gather information on citizen
review panels to assist States in meeting this new CAPTA requirement.
