For those of you have who have been on this list for some time you probably
know me as the person who routinely posts the guidelines about not sending
personal messages to the list.  Alas, my final act as owner is to break the
rule!  I am writing to let you know that I am leaving my position as the
Project Director the National Data Archive on Child Abuse and Neglect and
will no longer be the proud co-owner of this list.

It is amazing to think that it was almost five years ago that John
Eckenrode and I launched child-maltreatment-research-l.  I have to say that
it has been very satisfying to see this list succeed where so many others
have failed.  I believe that this success is two due to (a) a large core of
conscientious and informed subscribers (now numbering over 800) and (b)
careful moderation.  

Looking back at my seven years with the Archive, the creation of this list
stands out as one of the most rewarding experiences.  I want to thank you
for supporting it and, in particular, for staying with it through its
difficult pre-moderation adolesence.  I think we have all learned a lot and
I have greatly enjoyed getting to know you.
