Speaker needed

Regarding needing a speaker for your conference in Oakland. I would
suggest that you contact Dr. Jeffrey Edleson in the School of Social
Work at the U of MN. He has spoken a great deal on this topic and is
currently the co-invesitgator on a project funded by the Packard
Foundation in Los Altos, California which is exploring the overlap
between battering and child maltreatment. We have just begun data
collection on this project. Dr. Edleson also has extensive
background in evaluating domestic violence programs and in wokring
with batterer's programs.

You can contact him directly at:
magd@maroon.tc.umn.edu OR
(612) 624-8795, and you can see our research project web page at the
following URL: www.mincava.umn.edu/link

(MINCAVA is the Minnesota Center Against Violence and Abuse housed in
the School of Social Work at the U of Minnesota. "Link" stands for
the link between woman batterings/domestic violence and child
maltreatment.)

There is also a conference on Children Exposed to Family Violence
in San Diego, CA on October 21-24, 1998. Contact for that is:
Hillary Haldane, (619) 581-1774, email: hhaldane@adnc.com

Good Luck,
Anna Hagemeister
