Re: stats on % of incarcerated that were abused/neglect as child

According to the National Center on Child Abuse and Neglect,
(http://www.calib.com/nccanch/pubs/infact.htm):

"According to a 1992 study sponsored by the National Institute of
Justice, maltreatment in childhood increases the likelihood of arrest as
a juvenile by 53%, as an adult by 38%, and for a violent crime by 38%.
Being abused or neglected in childhood increases the likelihood of arrest
for females by 77%. "

Hope this helps. If you have access to the internet, go to dogpile.com
and type in child abuse. There is lots of info!
