The Edna McConnell Clark Foundation is currently funding Community
Partnership projects in four sites in the US: Cedar Rapids, IA,
Jacksonville, FL, St. Louis, MO and Louisville, KY.
I am involved in the Cedar Rapids Partnership Project. Myself and another
colleague, Carol Coohey, are evaluating re-offending cases seen by the
Partnership for Safe Families in Cedar Rapids. We will be beginning our
data collection this spring.
I understand that Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago has a contract
with the Foundation to conduct an overall evaluation of the implementation
of the Partnership initiatives across the four sites. I believe Steve
Budde is the contact person at Chapin Hall. I do not know what other
evaluations are underway at the other sites.
The Center for the Study of Social Policy is working with the Foundation
and have written a document called "Strategies to Keep Children Safe: Why
Community Partnerships Will Make a Difference." This document lays out the
initiatives of the Foundation which are being implemented, albeit in
different ways, in the four cites.
If you are interested in more information about the Cedar Rapid's
Partnership project, let me know and I can connect you with the Partnership
staff here.
