child behavior scales
We are evaluating the federal Title IV-E Child Welfare Waiver Demonstration
Project for the State of California. We will be interviewing children and
need more information on the following child behavior measures that have
been used on abused populations: (1) Child Behavior Checklist; (2) Behavior
Problems Index; and (3) Social Skills Questionnaire. We know their validity
and reliability scores, and have the author's documentation. We would like
to know if anyone has specific information regarding the following: (1) who
has used these measures on abused children, with what results, and any pros
and/or cons with the measures; (2) has anyone compared these measures to one
another (i.e., the BPI is much shorter than the CBCL -- is one better than
the other and why); and (3) do you recommend any other scales/measures
similar to these three (please include previous studies using your
recommended instrument)? Once again, these instruments will be used for
assessing behavior on an abused population of children.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions/recommendations. Kristen
