The National Committee to Prevent Child Abuse conducts a yearly survey of 
child maltreatment rates in each of the 50 states.  A summary of the 
report for 1996 can be found on our web page at 
http://www.childabuse.org.  The 1997 survey will be completed and 
released in April, 1998.
