ABUSE OF CHILDREN

CALL FOR PAPERS

Guest Editor
Dan Smith, Ph.D.

A number of studies over the past two decades have reported an association
between reports of childhood maltreatment and reports of a variety of
victimization experiences later in life, often extending into adulthood.
Although this phenomenon has been widely discussed, it is not well
understood. Child Maltreatment÷The Journal of the American Professional
Society on the Abuse of Children, is soliciting manuscripts on topics
related to repeat victimization, including but not limited to:
á Original empirical research papers, particularly those that test current
models and assumptions, or address methodological problems in previous
research
á Theoretical or conceptual analyses, including papers that critically
analyze current models or propose new models
á Treatment or intervention outcome research
á Social, legal, or policy analysis
á Research on the effects of repeated victimization
á Clinical protocols or practice models focused directly on repeated
victimization
á Prevention of repeat victimization
á Analysis and critiques of repeat victimization research and methodologies
and suggestions for future research
