Re: interviews with children

Adair,
You may find that Molly Reid and Sharon Landesman Ramey have a useful and
potent assessment system for children's social support and valuation. They
are the authors of the series of measures known as Dialogues About Families &
"My Friends and Family." We have experience with these instruments as part of
a local evaluation site for the Head Start-Public School National Transition
Demonstration Study. In our site, we assessed children 5 yrs to 7 yrs of age.
While I am currently analyzing the data now, when I last looked at it, there
were some good correlations with children's social skills, school adjustment
and academic competence. You can reach Molly Reid at the University of
Washington (206-685-1611) and Sharon Ramey at the Civitan International
Research Institute, Univ of Alabama (205-975-7244).
