New resources
(forgive multiple posts)
Our Child Abuse Prevention Network <<http://child.cornell.edu> is happy
to tell you about two new resources for professionals we have just
launched:
(1) With Shaken Baby Syndrome such a prominent topic of discussion since the
Au Pair case in Massachusetts, we set out to find what resources were
already available. We'll keep you informed, but, we found a need to
establish a special listserv for this purpose just for
professionals. If you qualify as a professional, and want to join,
Write a letter to Listproc@cornell.edu
In the message area type:
subscribe SBSpro-L YourFirstName YourLastName
Please be advised: This is for professionals only. All subscribers
will be approved before they join the list, and the listwoner reserves
the right to refuse any subscription request, and to delete any
subscriber who does not meet the list's criteria, for any reason
whatsoever.
We will do everything we can to make this the place where professionals
can "rub shoulders" to improve prevention, investigation and treatment
in this special area of child abuse. Medical, forensic, law
enforcement, CPS and community health professionals are encouraged to
join.
(2) We are happy to present a NewsService that is a *legal* source that
you can review on a daily basis. If you go to http://child.cornell.edu,
you will find
that we have an arrangement that allows us to let you view the top news
on child abuse (or any topic) from over 100 daily newspapers in the USA
-- every day! Just click on the NewsWatch button, and follow
instructions. When you do your preliminary search, you can always sort
the news by "Date" if you want. And be sure to read and print out the
User Agreement, which we link on our News page, and which you can find
on every page of NewsWatch.
