We are currently putting together a proposal that deals with "failure to
protect" allegations against battered women.  In the past we have worked
with New York City Child Protective Services (now called the
Administration for Children's Services) to help them identify battered
women.  Infomation about the latter can be found in our web site
(http://www.columbia.edu/~rhm5).  I believe that there is some work in
this area going on in Minneapolis.
