21st Annual Conference
"In the Wave, Not the Wake: Evaluation ö a Force for Change"
Monday & Tuesday, April 27th and 28th, 1998
The Grand Hotel ö Cape May, New Jersey
While the EERS will consider papers on any evaluation topic, papers
related to the following themes are of particular interest:
* Outcomes research to determine organizational and program
effectiveness (in public, private and corporate environments)
* Evaluations contributing to public policy decisions
* Evaluation advocacy ö promoting reform and empowerment
* Maintaining evaluation credibility in a political environment
* Novel methodologies
Theme Content Areas Include:
* Child Welfare
* Criminal Justice
* Education (All Levels)
* Families
* Health Care
* Managed Care
* Mental Health
* Organizational Development
* Substance Abuse
* Welfare Reform
If you wish to participate in a paper presentation or a roundtable
presentation/discussion, submit a 250-500 word abstract to:

Abstracts are due by December 22, 1997.
The abstract must contain project goals, methodology, results and
discussion. Please attach a cover sheet with your abstract. The cover
sheet should contain your name, address, telephone number, email
address, organizational affiliation, the title of your paper and
requested format, i.e., traditional paper presentation or a more
interactive presentation in a roundtable. The cover sheet will be
separated from the abstract to assure that no identification of the
author can be made during the review process. No identifying information
other than the paper's title should appear on the abstract itself.
Authors will be notified by February 2, 1998 as to the results of the
review.

ABOUT the EERS
The EERS is a non-profit professional organization of evaluators,
applied researchers, and others interested in the conduct and use of
evaluation. Drawing from the Northeast Corridor ö from Washington, DC
to Boston ö the EERS membership represents academia as well as the
public and private sectors. Their fields include human services,
health, education, business, and industry. The organization sponsors a
newsletter, an annual conference, and other meetings throughout the
year. We are your local evaluation network. The Mission of EERS is to:
* Promote the evaluation profession through information sharing and
educational activities;
* Promote innovative and appropriate evaluation methodologies;
* Promote high quality evaluation through fostering research,
developing and improving professional competencies, and
disseminating and utilizing results
