stress-buffering hypothesis

Hello Colleagues,

I'm staring at a deadline, so can someone save me a lot of time and steer
me in the direction of a couple of items:

1)  Seminal article/review paper on the stress-buffering effects of social
support in preventing/reduccing child maltreatment--particularly physical
abuse.

2)  A concise "stressful live events" scale or a concise life events/daily
hassles measure successfully used in CAN research.
