Re: Child abuse statistics

Dottie -

I know that the state of Pennsylvania compiles child abuse data that includes
the perpetrator's relationship to the child. This includes adotive parents.
They can be reached throgh the PA Department of Public Welfare, Office of
Children Youth and Families, PO Box 2675 Harrisburg, PA. 17105-2675,
717-787-3984 or the Child ABuse registry, OCYF, Lanco Lodge, 3rd floor, PA Box
2675, Harrisburg, PA Phone 717-783-1964.

My understanding is that they are compiling the 1996 stats now.

Gentlemen...

I am trying to locate statistics dealing with child abuse/child abuse
fatalities committed by biological parents vs adoptive parents to use in a
research paper for school. Unfortunately, though much data is out there, I
don't seem to be able to lay my hands on statistics that would provide a
direct comparison between the frequency of occurrence in relationship to
the biological/sociological caretakers.

Do you, by any chance, have such statistics available? I would appreciate
any assistance you could provide. Thank you.
