Research measures for Incest Study
Child Maltreatent Researchers:
We are doing a longitudinal study of families where incest has occurred
and will be interviewing the father (perpetrators), mothers and children.
We are interested in receiving your suggestions about the following:
1. Suggested measures of parent-child relationships, particularly from
the child's perspective, both immediately post-disclosure and over the
long-term. We will be interviewing school-age children, adolescents, and,
eventually, adult survivors. We are also interested in measures of the
parents' perspectives on this, and particularly are looking for good
measures of the father's relationship to the child.
2. Measures of social support and measures of isolation on the individual
level and measures of isolation of the family.
3. Measures of children's attributions, cognitions and perceptions that
might be affected by abuse.
Please respond to the list, if appropriate, or to Linda Williams
(Lwilliams@wellesley.edu) and Benjamin Saunders (saunders@musc.edu).
Thanks for your assistance.
