termination of parental rights

          I am trying to locate ANY recent research on terminating
          parental rights in cases of child maltreatment (e.g.,
          length of time children are in the CPS system prior to
          termination; factors associated with decisions to
          terminate, etc.).

          In addition, I am trying to determine if
          there have been any state laws passed recently with regard
          to terminating parental rights (e.g., conditions under
          which attempts to re-unify families are not required; time
          limits for re-unification, etc.).  I'd also appreciate any
          feedback folks might have on the potential or actual effects
          of these laws.
