Colleagues: An HR official in New York State DSS asked me to help him find
information. Here is his query:

"I have been searching the net for some information on the length of initial
training for child welfare caseworkers in other states. That is, when a
caseworker is hired to do child welfare work, whether it is CPS, Foster Care,
Adoption etc, how much basic training do they get? In NY we give 2 weeks.
I am
sure there is something out there on the Internet that will give me an
idea, but
I can't find it."

What do other states do? and are there sites on the Internet where such
information is available?

Please reply to me (or to the list, if you feel this is of general
interest.) In any case, I will compile the replies and forward a report
back to the list.

Thanks!

Tom
