The Abidin Parental Stress Index is excellent, but a bit on the long 
side.  It's got norms, reliablity, validity.  I do believe they have a short 
form, however.

Pascoe's Maternal Social Support INdex is a brief instrument for use with 
moms that looks at social support, not stress per se.

Let me know if you'd like to know how to get a hold of either of these 
instruments.
