  • The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) *
ICPSR maintains and provides access to a vast archive of social science data for research and instruction, and offers training in quantitative methods to facilitate effective data use. To ensure that data resources are available to future generations of scholars, ICPSR preserves data, migrating them to new storage media as changes in technology warrant. In addition, ICPSR provides user support to assist researchers in identifying relevant data for analysis and in conducting their research projects. ICPSR is a membership-based organization, with over 400 member colleges and universities around the world.
  • The Children's Bureau *

  • National Data Analysis System (NDAS) *
The Child Welfare League of America, in cooperation with the state child welfare agencies, has collected the nation's first comprehensive, interactive child welfare database: the National Data Analysis System (NDAS). The NDAS harnesses technology to promote effective integration of research, policy, and practice. The NDAS puts child welfare statistics at the fingertips of Internet users, creating customized tables and graphs and providing information and links necessary to understand the data. • Alternative/Differential Response Bibliography
This database is a collection of citations (some with links to text) related to Alternative response. Alternative or Differential Response refers to a system of nontraditional response to child maltreatment reports. The terms have been used to describe systems providing an option of voluntary family involvement with child welfare services following a maltreatment report. The database is created and maintained by NDACAN.

  • New NIH Reporting Requirements *
Recipients of funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) should be aware of a new reporting requirement that goes into effect on April 7, 2008. Principal investigators must ensure that electronic versions of any peer-reviewed manuscripts arising from NIH funding and accepted for publications after that date are deposited in PubMed Central (PMC), NIH's digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature. NIH has prepared an FAQ on the new reporting requirements.
